Below is an interview I held with the Students' Union Media Officer, David Stubbings. For one of my final multimedia projects, I am looking into graduate employability, and how students can get ahead of the curve now, before graduation when it is arguably too late to look to get experience.
The video below is just a small clip of a detailed interview I did with him about the benefits of contributing to UCLan student media, and in it he outlines the main functions of each media outlet.
I asked to film this clip (along with some other interviews) in his office, as I felt that it added to the environment. Obviously, unemployment as a concept is difficult to illustrate visually, so I thought that an interview in his office made more sense. His role as media officer (in charge of student media otutlets) put him in an authoritative position to be able to speak about gaining work experience, so this is why I chose to interview him.
As I chose to hold the interview in the office, the interviewee was obviously sat down, making a medium close up slightly harder to achieve. The shot it is slightly wide, but I felt that it would take away from the office environment had it been any more close up, hence taking away from the piece. The grey surrounds of the office are made the most of by the shot being ever so slightly wider.
